Haymarket Square is an open-air fruit and vegetable market that sits in an area that borders the North End, Boston, Massachusetts, Government Center, Boston, Massachusetts, and Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The market is open during daylight hours every Friday and Saturday.

If you can make it, get there on Friday night on the way home from work. There is less of crowd, better selection and better quality on that day. The quality is hit or miss, but always very cheap. The produce is sourced from the same warehouses as the produce purchased by the large supermarkets. One word of caution: the fish, while inexpensive, is not very fresh and is best used in a dish in a sauce rather than on the barbeque or in the broiler.
