I know a lot of people that just adore Grendel's. Personally, I just dont' see it. I've actually given up trying to understand or convince them otherwise. While they harp on the "no bad beer" thing I would be tempted to go right back at and say "no good beer either." Honestly most of the stuff on tap is just mediocre; sure they usually have a nice Hefeweizen, but who doesn't?

The half priced apps and whatnot are a great deal, but again the food is must plain boring. The chips come with the most watery salsa I have ever had and their hummus platter wasn't anything special either. The atmosphere IS nice and it's a good place to grab a drink if you're in the area, I just don't think its a place that you'd go out of your way to frequent.

They don't offer a million different beers, but they're all compelling, and served up just right. Lots of unique choices too, like Cambridge Amber, Lambic, Original Sin Cider. Prices are reasonable.
