Walking into Giovanni's today is not much different than it was being in the owner, Frances Cannarsa's, home during any of her special family gatherings. The same comfortable, congenial, atmosphere makes even distant strangers feel at home. Family photographs and antiques are displayed just as they were in Rosa's own living room. And just like home, the kitchen buzzes with activity preparing Rosa's traditional dishes as well as an endless gourmet of specialties created by Frances, Randy and their special staff. Enjoy delicious Italian food in an elegant, yet homely atmosphere.

We love this place! The best, freshest homemade pasta! Melt in your mouth yummy! Not to mention the best calamari anywhere! Personable staff this area was where my father in-law grew up down here when he came here from Italy this was a very large Italian neighborhood back in the day. The woman that makes the Gnocchi’s in the back is from around here. There was love in the food then, and there is love in it now, and add a pocket full of memories.

What a wonderful place to dine. Not only is the food great, but it's the hospitality that Fran and all of the staff shows to every customer.
I took a group of Charleston, West Virginia, officials there a few months ago; they had been truly ripped off by Detroit taxi drivers getting there from downtown Detroit and after a simply outstanding dining experience, Fran made sure that they didn't have their evening spoiled by another unacceptable taxi fare........she arranged for the entire gang to be transported back to their hotels downtown.
Trust me, you don't get that kind of hospitality at many restaurants anywhere in the U.S.
My business associates from W.V. still talk about the great dinner and wonderful hospitality. She certainly didn't have to do it, but Fran went the extra yard by tracking me down on my cell phone a few days later to make sure I knew that she had contacted Detroit city officials to complain about the taxi service.

Simply the BEST! Our favorite restaurant by far. Outstanding food, wine and atmosphere! Fran & Tracy are great and so down to earth. Will not find better pasta anywhere!! We make the trip every chance we get.

By far the best Italian in the world. The service and the food combine to make a sensational experience everytime. While it was just last week that my husband and I were there for my birthday. Lori and John ( our servers) work so well together and they took great care of us to make sure we had a great time. we love it and will see them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work at fords and i always tell my friends that this is the place to go. We recently had 6 of us go there and our server, which I do believe his name was Jon Wayne, recommended an appetizer platter that was outstanding!!! I needed assistance with the wine list and without hesitation he was there . we ended up having 3 bottles!!!!! Overall this is the best food service, and atmosphere I would recommend!

Giovanni's Ristorante has the very best Italian food around, the owner Fran and her son Randy are wonderful people, and make you feel like you are family, every time we go there!!! The food is fantastic and feels like you are in ITALY!!!!!

Fran, Randy and the rest of the staff make you feel very comfortable and the food is out of this world. You definitely need to try the calamari, the daily specials, and any pasta dish. The wine list is great, too. All of the wait staff are pleasant, efficient and helpful (Lori is our favorite).

Possibly the best meal I have ever had. The pasta melts in your mouth. Superior service, fun, relaxing, and intimate atmosphere. Great wine list, and prices are very reasonable for the quality and service.

An absolutely wonderful place. My children had a surprise Birthday party for me there with 40 people and the service, food (calamari!!!!) ambiance, Fran and Lori were awesome. The best Italian in town!

You do have great restaurants to choose from, but this is the best if you want "Italian"! They cook it Italian, and serve it Italian! You have to have the Italian style of service to really get the whole "Italian" experience. All the courses and the "pauses" in between courses to talk and enjoy the company and the surroundings. They know how to do it right. It is an experience not just a meal. But the meal it self is the best in town. Go for the evening, not just to eat.

Classic Italian done perfectly. You will not find better (and more tender) calamari on this planet. They should bottle their base sauce for the rest of the world, and people everywhere would just smile as they eat.

Giovanni's is a wonderful Italian restaurant.The food along with the service was exceptional! Everything from the greeting at the door to the end of the meal was a delight. Our server Jonathan had the knowledge and charisma that made our night smoothing. My husband and I will be asking for him again and I recommend others do too!
