Gallagher's Music LLC was founded by Robert Gallagher in 1986 with three students, a guitar, in a college dorm room. Twenty two years later with seventy students weekly, he has turned his music studio into a thriving business. When it comes to learning to play the guitar, understanding music theory or picking out accessories to go with the perfect instrument, Robert provides expert advice with great student and customer reviews. His passion is music and he values the success of others. With the company expanding in 2008, they found Detroit’s best Music Instructors to become part of Gallagher’s Music @ Home… bringing private music lessons to the student’s home, serving all of the Metro Detroit Area. Robert Gallagher has been teaching my son and his best friend guitar for about 3 years now - they have both progressed very rapidly compared to their previous teacher and most importantly they have a great time and Robert goes the extra to prepare them for talent shows, auditions at school, etc. In addition to guitar basics he covers music theory and is versed in every type of playing the player is interested in. He's great with his students.

My 12 year old has been taking lessons with Robert for the past 3 year. My son has a great time and has come a long way with Roberts help.

I've been a student of Robert's for almost 2 years and enjoyed every minute of it. He is a great instructor, very knowledgeable about music, theory, gear, everything. But best of all is that he is very enthusiastic about sharing all this knowledge with his students. Both my kids have started lessons with him recently also (8 and 10) and it is great fun to watch him work with both of them. He can teach at any level, literally. And, he can rock! Robert is a fantastic teacher, not just in "how to play". He teaches theory too! His guitars are beautiful and he will recommend a guitar that's best for your body frame. Do you need an accessory? He has it all.

I have taken lessons from Robert for over 20 years and I continue to improve while I enjoy playing more and more. The lessons are relaxed, fun, and interesting. Robert's explanations are intelligent and clear. He's not a rock 'n' roll poser or an uppity uber-nerd; just a talented musician and dedicated teacher. Robert is also versatile in that he helps me learn Jazz, Classical, and popular music.
If you need an axe and don't know how to choose, see Robert. He selected an excellent classical guitar for me that looks and sounds wonderful.
He's a good guy who works hard and cares enough to help his students reach their musical goals.
