this is my business

This is a living history museum that preserves the history of East Orange County. They are very active in the community and offer quality living history and hands on programs to schools throughout Central Florida. The replica fort houses a museum and there are seven restored and furnished pioneer homes on site where the visitor can get the true filling of what it was like to be a pioneer in East Central Florida.

My Great Grandmother Savage-Canada lived near the real Fort site. I was at her house a lot when I was a child. It was a real log house, I remember it well.

I believe that the heritage of this country should go on. If we did not have this Fort we would not understand the history of our country nor the lives that were lost building what we have today. The people that work at this Fort put their heart and soul into preserving its history. This Fort is something positive for those that have family that were involved in some of the reenactments that they do several times a year. If you have never been you definetly need to take your whole family and spend a weekend learning and enjoying all the wonderful activities they have going on and if not during the off season and just take a trip down memory lane and enjoy each home as I did. It is like no other.

Because of the authenic cracker houses that where moved there and restored, and the hands on programs that are offered to the kids. The wonderful park setting.

They are preserving the history of Florida! The restored old homesteads are great for anyone to tour and learn. It wasn't that long ago that cattle roamed most of this area and people lived without air conditioning!

It is the real Florida with the homes that pioneers actually lived in and all the antiques. Also it has great educational value.
