Formaggio Kitchen has been an institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts for over 20 years – a gourmand’s paradise doubling as a neighborhood grocer. Our regular customers rely on us for their early morning cups of steaming hot coffee and freshly baked scones, croissants and muffins, often returning in the afternoons for a grilled panino, artisan baguette, chunk of Parmigiano-Reggiano, a bottle of wine or a bag of organic salad greens. Evening brings the dinner crowd: devout followers of our chef’s creations take home meals such as Niman Ranch veal stew, farm fresh vegetable risotto or a roasted organic chicken. Weekend visitors come to stock up on cheeses, cured meats & baked goods, always leaving with something they’ve never seen before that is sure to become a new house staple.

The range of cheese options, the frequent free samplings of the new and unusual, the bakery and the lovely produce section all blend together to create a unique, European experience.
I am in this shop buying cheese, wine, bread and snacks five times a week. They have a wonderful assortment of products that are not available anywhere else in Boston/Cambridge or in the US for that matter.
Formaggio offers samples of very unusual and very special gourmet items to taste before buying. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, informative, patient, and friendly. I love shopping in this store (South End Formaggio) for the always delicious and unique delicacies and they have from around the world as well as local. My husband and I love an excuse to shop in this store.
Not only is the selection of cheese at this place unreal, but if you don't know too much about cheese (perhaps you just know you like it) the staff is super helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and very willing to dole out samples! YUMMIE!

Formaggio is by far the best cheese and gourmet shop in town. They will help you pick out cheeses for dinner parties based upon how many people are coming and what type of food you're serving. They are very knowledgeable about all of the cheese, so going there is like getting your own personal cheese lesson.
I feel like I am back in Europe when I shop at Formaggio. The staff is wonderful and so helpful when you want some cheese selections.
A trip to Europe. Amazing selection of very high quality foods. So carefully chosen and lovingly presented. Fancy fruits and vegetables and mushrooms from France. Cheeses perfectly preserved. Shop like a chef.
I've been shopping here weekly for years now, and the person i usually buy from on huron ave. in Cambridge is so knowledgeable and patient... i would not buy cheese from anyone else.
Love Formaggio for not just the cheese but the pates, the specialty items, the pastries, etc. Love it, Love it, Love it!
