Stay away! My wife and I were scheduled to get married at Forest House in March of last year. We had set aside a day with Patrick and he was supposed to send us a contract in the mail. We are from Sacramento but are living in Fresno. As time went on we never recieved a contract and started to make continuous calls to Patrick. We never recieved a call back and we went as far as going all the way to Forest House from Fresno to try to track him down. We were never able to find him or get a hold of him. I don't know if he double booked and tried to ignore us but regardless it was VERY unprofessional. We had managed to have everything for our wedding booked except the venue and due to the Forest House's lack of professionalism we had to find a new place at the last minute. I would highly recommend not choosing this venue. If you do decide to choose this place I highly suggest booking a second venue in case you get burned like my wife and I did.

We got married at the Forest House in March 2006! We had to place for the whole weekend. My husband and I LOVED the ambiance, food, service, everything about the place! My guests loved the bar and game room! They still say our venue was one of the best they have ever been! Our guests loved the food as well. I still can't stop thinking about the polenta they served. My husband makes wine and they even let us bring in our own wine. The service was great...I didn't have to worry about a thing from the minute I stepped through the door. I would recommend this venue to any bride and groom.

I had my wedding here not so long ago and I would NEVER recommend this venue to anyone. I had to leave several messages for Patrick and Monica before they were returned. The cakes are FROZEN which wasn't discussed at the tasting. They had a great DJ at the tasting but he was booked on my date so I called for a recomendation from the Nichols. Not only were my mulitple phone calls returned several days later, the other DJ they recommended hit on my bridesmaids! The food was medicore at best. If you live in the Bay area as I do, don't expect the same quality of food. It's in the country and it shows.

I had the worst experience of my life at this place. My phone calls were never returned. It wasn't until the 11th hour that Patrick decided it was prudent to call me back and check on details. You get what you pay for. This place is cheap are so are the standards and service. I think the Nichols are too interested in collecting the cash, not bothering with the brides(and I by no means was high maintenace), their "hands offs the place is all yours" approach is just pure laziness.

The Forest House Lodge made my dream wedding come to life. It was almost 2 years ago and still seams like yesturday that I was riding in the horse drawn carraige to the the beautiful ceremony sight. I wish all the time that I could relive that day. The owners Patrick and Monica were amazing, the food was the best buffet ever and the cake was to die for. I still have people ask me where they can get another slice. I definately recommend this venue to anyone that wants to have an all around memorable wedding. That is why my brother in law and his future wife are getting married there this spring. I cannot thank them enough for everything that they made possible and available to us and our family.

I am having my wedding there in June and Patrick and Monica have been so helpful!!! Not only is this place picture perfect the service is outstanding. They have treated us with respect and I am so glad we found this place.

Great place! Patrick and Monica answered all my questions and treated us like family. I could not have asked for a better place! They made my daughter's wedding truly enjoyable. They allowed us free reign to decorate, to play and catered to all our guests no matter the age! My family and friends keep asking me when our next daughter is getting married so they can all go back to Forrest House. Now if that is not a recommendation, I do not know what is!

My daughter was married last October at this venue. I could not have been more pleased! We had heard of the horror stories of contracting with several businesses and trying to get them all coordinated for the day. This place does everything for you and only requires one thing, the bride and groom to have no worries and lots of great memories! My husband and I have had no problems with the staff and surprise, surprise, they even refunded us some of our money when the wine tab did not go over the amount we had set. Now who ever heard of a place doing that before! I have recommended this place to everyone I meet and every one of our guests have told us how fantastic a time they had!

My sister was lucky enough to get married at the Forrest House Lodge in October of 2007! Everyone had a fantastic time! The service was great and so friendly. I would heartily recommend it to everyone who is looking for a place to have and hold a wedding and a reception.

I got married at Forest House last May. Our family and friends still tell us it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Patrick and Monica were wonderful to work with. We had the Lodge from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, and were able to move in and have the run of the place. All of the staff were more than helpful, and all of our guests felt comfortable. We wouldn't have changed anything - it was an amazing experience!

The forest house lodge is the most incredible wedding site, and Monica & Patrick are amazing to work with. With their help, my husband and I had the wedding of our dreams. We wanted a beautiful, classy ceremony and an amazingly fun reception, and we got just that. Perhaps the best part was that throughout the entire process, Patrick & Monica were so calm and flexible. They know exactly how to create an incredible wedding experience all while keeping the bride calm! I could go on about how exceptional we think this place is, and about how many people have told us that ours was the best wedding ever. But you'd have to see it for yourself.

My husband and I also got married at the Forest House last October (my, they were busy last October) and it was absolutely perfect. My husband's family was coming all the way from Indiana so we wanted to make the party worth their while. We had an all night party with all of our guests and everyone said that it was the most unique and comfortable wedding they had ever attended. We didn't have to worry about a thing, Patrick and Monica took care of it all. The ceremony site was breathtaking, the food was fantastic and we didn't have to worry about anyone driving home that night. We can't say enough about how wonderful our day was and most of that praise belongs to the Forest House Lodge.

Since our October 2007 wedding, friends and family have constantly come up to us and said "You had the best wedding." (This even happened, no joke, AT a wedding we were attending a couple months later! A guest leaned over and whispered, "You're wedding was so much better.") The praise rests, of course, with the proprietors of Forest House Patrick and Monica. They were absolutely wonderful. The dynamic Nickels duo were always willing to help, offer suggestions to ease possible complications or stress, respond quick to any and all concerns we may have had and catered to not only my husband and myself, but family and guests. This venue truly has EVERYTHING you could ever hope to have for your wedding - beautiful scenery, homey atmosphere, fun filled gameroom, comfortable hotel rooms, an extravagant bar ... and mouth watering food. If you are looking to plan a carefree, breath taking wedding ... you must contact the Forest House. Your happily ever after could not begin at a more awe-inspiring place. It is truly, as my grandfather called the ceremony site, "God's Altar."

We got married at the Forest House Lodge. I don't know where to start really.....First of all, Patrick and Monica are an amazing team. They take care of not only the bride and groom, but the family and each and every guest. The venue is straight out of a storybook. The view of the American canyon is breathtaking. Our guest were floored when they got to experience this incredible venue. The food was to die for. And Monica made the most amazing wedding cake. I could go on for hours......Bottom line, this place rocks. I can't imagine having the most memorable day of my life being anywhere but the Forest House.

Our daughter's wedding was there last November. Not only did the weather cooperate, the seasonal colors were awesome. The photographer took some great pictures. Patrick and Monica Nickel are the BEST people to work with in planning such an event. They certainly know what they are doing. The food selection was unbeatable and our choices were absolutely wonderful. The cake that Monica created, baked and decorated, not only looked beautiful, it was delicious. It was my daughter's dream cake. Forest House was the first place we looked at and we booked it the same day! And the ability to spend a night there before the wedding (the year before) made it all the better. It makes me wish I had more children...well maybe not.

My husband and I were married at the Foresthouse in November of 2006 and could not have been happier with our choice. As other voters have said, our guests still rave about what a great time they had. The ability to have the entire celebration in one place and to know that you "own" the hotel for the entire night is priceless - it was truly our house, our party, for us and our guests. The service was fantastic, the food wonderful, and the staff very helpful. I can't imagine a better place to get married in.

My husband and I were married at The Forest House in April of 2005. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had and that our wedding was the best they have been to. You will not be disappointed ... we weren't - almost three years later!!

We hosted a wedding in July 2006 for our daughter. Patrick and Monica were wonderful to work with. They made you feel as if the Lodge was your home and were very flexible with our plans and needs. I would highly recommend them for the wedding of your dreams.

My husband and I chose the Forest House for our wedding October. We are still getting compliments on how it was the best wedding our guests have been to. From the moment we walked in the door Patrick, Monica and their entire staff made it an experience to remember for the rest of our lives. It was an EXPERIENCE, not just an average wedding. I would recommend it to everyone who is engaged. Also...not to be missed, a ceremony site no one else can even come close to matching. Absolutely Amazing!

I know the family that owns the Forest House personally and every time I am at one of their events I am amazed at how magical each one event is. The attention to detail is like no other. They take care of each couple every step of the way. I especially love they don't rush them any time of their event. The Forest House lets you do what you want with no time constraints. The fact that 70 of your guest can spend the night is just 'icing on the cake'. It is the best I have ever experienced.

I'm in the hospitality industry and I can't write enough great things about this AMAZING destination wedding facility! From the breath taking view at the ceremony site to the cleanliness of the rooms this place is top notch. It is a must see for any bride who's looking to have the greatest day of her life.

My Husband and I were married last summer at the Forest House Lodge. Simply put - this was the fulfillment of all my childhood dreams and fantasies. We looked throughout Northern California and couldn't find a ceremony site as beautiful (with a view of the sierras that is simply breathtaking). Our stay at the historic hotel was absolutely perfect - from the food all the way to enjoying the incredible bar with all of my friends and family into the night. Their service was awe-inspiring, and really made our day special. It was also so refreshing to have so many rooms at the hotel for all of my friends and family. I didn't have to worry about sending them off into the night to drive home or off to some impersonal chain hotel.

The over-night accommodations make for a relaxed and easy celebration. The food is marvelous!
