Nestled in a residential area near Jamaica Pond, The Footlight Club, America's oldest community theatre, has performed every year since 1877. For over 120 years Footlight Club members have sustained the organization's mission: To present the best in non-professional theater to a broad-based audience, and to preserve and maintain Eliot Hall as a community resource.

Love the choices of plays, diversity of cast, atmosphere, and who can beat the prices
The Footlight Club is truly the definition of "community theatre." Everyone at the Club works together to make each show go smoothly and be the best that it can be. The actors, technical crew, production staff and all others who work at the club all make this place truly feel like a community of caring, helpful neighbors. The shows always pull in very talented actors, singers, dancers, musicians and technical people. When you watch each show you can tell how much fun the cast always has, and how much they care about each other -- and this place.
It's friendly local community entertainment that welcomes all to join in the fun!
See the best local talent in a historical setting. A great night of entertainment for all.
I recently accompanied my daughter to Boston for a weekend trip. We went to see West Side Story. Besides an A+ performance, I was so taken by the quaint theater setting.
Quality live theater at neighborhood prices happening in a Victorian gem of a building! the same location for 128 years!
Community Theatre is a valuable asset to the cultural well being of Boston. More local support is always needed in the form of volunteering as well as attending the performances. For over 100 years The Footlight Club has provided just such an outlet
Very friendly environment , with unobstructed viewing and listening. Good choice of productions. Much attention paid to the use of such a small space.
The Footlight Club is America's oldest community theater. All are welcome to experience theater whether it is on stage, behind the scenes or as an audience member.
The Footlight Club, awash with the ups and down of over 125 years making each curtain call, continues to expand the scope of its audiences, while its programming encompasses the tried and new.
The Footlight Club is always a pleasant surprise. Given that it is a community theater you expect to see fun but amateur productions, but that is not the case. They put on spectacular show. You're always happy you went.
I've been a member there for 30+ years, from high school on. The sense of inclusiveness is very apparent at the FLC, as is the way the productions try to appeal to the community. We have kept the building renovated in order to keep the Historic aspect of Eliot Hall and to add to the wonderful look of the community. The productions, though non-professional are usually exceptional.
Consistently entertaining thanks to their great show selection. A versatile company with demonstrated excellence in dramatic, musical and comedy productions. We look forward to every show.
Great prices, friendly volunteers and talented performers make the Footlight Club one of my favorite local places for stage entertainment. Plus the old building has beautiful details and its Parker Room acts as a gallery for local visual artists to display their work.
It's a wonderful space, well loved and cared for by its leaders/volunteers and gives regular people an opportunity to try out for something they may love as a hobby - singing, dancing, performing. Can't beat it for a community theater, very intimate
