Armed with musicianship, intelligence, and an passionate loyalty to the power of creation, Flobots are looking to engage a new musical culture, one mind at a time. Progressive in both style and message, the band's ability to drop from symphonic rock-infused crescendos into stripped-down string-laden break beats has earned Flobots a reputation for both originality and authenticity. After originally forming as a side project in 2005, Flobots brought together Emcee’s Jonny 5 and Brer Rabbit with violist Mackenzie Roberts, guitarist Andy Guerrero, bassist Jesse Walker, trumpet player Joe Ferrone, and drummer Kenny Ortiz. The band's first EP Platypus' CD sales in the first week put Flobots at #1 on Twist & Shout's bestseller list. The upward trajectory continues as the band prepares to release its first full-length record, Fight With Tools, on October 16th, 2007.

I have to say I'm voting for the Flobots because I have, over the past year, had the opportunity to work with a lot of teenage kids and they all seem to really like this band. I find them catchy and their lyrics well thought.
Great people and very deserving of the success. Let's hope more original bands make it out of Denver.
When I listen to the Flobots, I feel like I'm doing more than just listening to music. Their lyrics are educated and often funny. Their street team doesn't promote the band as much as they try to get people involved in the community. Their website is full of ways for people to get involved, and their video for the song "Rise" features nonprofit organizations. The Flobots are truly trying to make a difference in the world, and if that's not enough to garner your respect, their music will undoubtedly get you there. Throw in the fact that they are all incredibly nice people, always willing to talk to fans, and they are an easy easy choice for your vote.
I just heard these guys on BBC (from Sirius). That's awesome to find out they are from here in Denver. Jo Whiley seems to think "Handlebars" is going to be huge, which is pretty cool, because the BBC radio station is better than any other station i've ever heard. A lot of hits from over there move to here, so hopefully you will be a huge success.
I saw them at the Mile High Music Festival... THEY ROCK!.. but i knew that before the concert!
It's refreshing to have a Denver-based band that makes you want to dance and makes you think -- Michele
I have seen this band 3 times now. The first being Keggs N Eggs. Their music is infectious, their lyrics are current and meaningful. My only hope is they never slow down.
Their lyrics show conscious thought that I find inspiring and satisfying, just like their rhythms and beats. They give me chills.
Flobots are the most intelligent hip hop in all of Denver - their lyrics are meaningful and hard-hitting. They absolutely rock every show they play and leave you breathless, screaming for more at the end.
Music to dance to, music to think about... the flobots throw amazing shows... they always offer something different... they are my favorite local band without question
I never really considered myself into hip-hop til I heard these guys! Not only do they have an incredible group of talented musicians and lyricist, but they are putting out some really magnetic, powerful and positive messages with their music! Keep it up you guys! ONE LOVE!
