Everything's Better in Brookline
Created by: Cornflake Girl
I live in Brookline, and love it, and these are some of my favorite places therein.
-
Zenna Noodle Bar
Great for a quick lunch with class! My favorite is anything Rainbow, because what I love about this place is the freshness and crispness of their vegetables. Also try the "crepe" appetizer, delicious!
-
Coolidge Corner Theatre
Hands down the best theater in Boston! (Excuse me, Brookline) Such a cool atmosphere, and it's been around for so long, the history makes it more fun.
-
The Publick House
Best place to go on a cold, rainy night, when all you want is to curl up with some friends and a great beer. No Guinness here, I am totally an O'Hara's convert. And they are all about the Belgian comfort food. Fried mashed potato-balls? Yes, please!
-
Dellaria
Shelley is the most awesome stylist, I've brought all my friends in to see her, and the latest one hugged her when she was done working her magic. Also, Skincare by Stavroula is located inside the salon, downstairs, and they are amazing with wax! It's a one-stop deal for me!
-
Mint Julep
Really cool accessories. They sell Tano bags, among others, and will order designs or colors for you if they don't have them in-store. Local jewelry designers are featured, and the clothes are really beautiful. It can be a little pricey, but it's all quality merchandise that is hard to find elsewhere.
-
Party Favors
Best Cupcakes! They have fancy looking traditional frosted ones, but my favorites are the rich, chocolaty varieties, with flavors like Boston Cream and Oreo.
-
Beacon Street Tavern
A great place to meet up with friends. Friendly bartenders, and there always tends to be plenty of space, even on busy nights. Killer sweet potato fries, too!
-
O'Leary's Pub
Great (cheap!) food, a dedicated "regular" crowd, and some light-hearted live entertainment that makes you feel right at home. Fun, friendly staff, too!
-
The Fireplace Restaurant
My favorite place in Brookline for a fancy, frilly dinner. Pricey, but well worth it, their portions are perfect so you don't feel wasteful or shorted, and you MUST try the strawberry mint martini. Amazing is all I have to say.
-
Paris Creperie
A great place for a quick breakfast, they have decent smoothies and wonderful crepes. And even early in the morning, they'll make you a "lunch" crepe. I love versatility in my food...
-
Rod Dee Thai Restaurant
For take out, I turn to Thai! Really great food, fast and decently priced. They really take their recipes seriously, you know what you order is going to be authentic and tasty.
-
Cafe Nicholas
This is my local pizza joint. I like the "Curse of the Bambino" pizza, which, I suppose, needs to be re-named, but it is still delicious!
-
Matt Murphy's Pub
Why? Because it's fun to get served fish n chips in newspaper. It just is. And they have live music frequently. The owner and staff are super nice, too. Beware, cash only!!!

Try the Shawarma King so you can add it to your guide. It deserves to be in "everything's better in brookline"
