Founded in 1932 to provide a place for young Detroit artists to show and sell their work, the Detroit Artists Market (DAM) is one of the region's premier nonprofit contemporary art galleries. DAM continues to show and sell works by area artists through exhibitions, a sales gallery, and special events. DAM serves as a resource to all who seek to expand their knowledge, understanding, and enjoyment of art.

I don't understand how the show represents a wide breath of Detroit artists. Where are the artists of color? Detroit has the largest market for African American art in the country. You would never know it looking at the DAM event photos.

With the exception of going directly to an artist's studio, Detroit Artists Market is the finest place in the city to view and purchase local artist's work.

Neo-Bohemian and thought-provoking at the same time. Great place to look at great art and to people watch too. Reminiscent of the galleries in Chelsea, Soho or Williamsburg. 4 stars...
