Well, this was a very odd experience.
I found this place on the internet and was impressed by ALL of the really great reviews. I made my boyfriend and myself an appointment here on a Sunday morning. We parked on the street and were a little early, so we decided to look for a Starbucks. We passed the salon on our way and both looked at each other like "oh no..."
So when we finally went in, there were women downstairs smoking outside, which I find a little trashy. So we went inside and the place looks pretty nice, and it's actually really big. So I felt a little more at ease. That lasted until I saw my hair dresser. He was pretty sloppy, which okay, whatever. Then he started cutting my hair and I saw chunks of hair falling down- OTHER PEOPLE'S HAIR! There was other people's hair still in the scissors from the last hair cut! Then I noticed that none of the utensils were in that bluish disinfectant liquid that you see at EVERY other salon! I was disgusted and thinking "oh great- now I'll have lice!" There was hair all over the floor, obviously no one had cleaned it up from the last few hair cuts.
I have to say that my haircut was pretty decent. I was basically looking for them to fix a series of bad haircuts and he did do that very well. My bangs were a little off (I've come to the conclusion that men don't know how to cut bangs unless they're like superstar hairstylists) but the rest of it was okay. My boyfriend really liked his cut and said he would go back.
I have no intentions of returning. While the haircut was okay, I personally can not get past the sloppiness of the place. The kicker was when the stylist walked over to a box of powdered donuts and started eating one walking around the salon with the powder falling all over his shirt. This is just not what I was expecting as going to the place voted the "best haircut in D.C."
My last complaint is that we each had a 20% discount coupon from their website, and when I called they said my haircut would be $65 and my bf's would be $35. Well, they rang up our cuts before we gave them the coupons (which should've made our haircuts $52 and $28 respectively). Well, his came out to be that much but mine was still $60- which obviously isn't the 20% off $65. I just wanted out, so I paid it and left!

I am so picky about hair salons...Like extremely picky. My girl friends and I only go to Daniels! They are so clean,fun, helpful, prestigious. Perfect for anyone who would like incredible hair and nails instantly! Very progressive. Can't beat that fact their on M street! So many shops around! Perfect paradise in the heart of D.C., it's really close for all you Georgetown- Potomac girls!!

Daniels hair salon is very internationally friendly! Warm hearted and with an ample talented staff. I highly recommend everything! They continue with great passion!!

Daniel's Hair Salon deserves all the acclaim they get because they are not only excellent, but also the least pretentious hair salon with true experienced and creative professionals!!! Daniel's is a place where real experts in the hair industry exist unlike most other places in my opinion...

Daniel's Hair Salon has this fine aurora as soon as I set foot into the salon. The whole experience there is one that I truly look forward to every few weeks. They just make me feel so great and always put me in a good mood! It's hard to explain, so you must experience it for yourself!

Daniel's has been around for over 20 years now and I am proud to say I'm a client of theirs for the past 15 years! I use their services for a full treatment of coloring, styling, facials, and mani/pedi. A truly remarkable salon that really knows how to take care of you!!!

I wish I lived in Washington, DC instead of at the beach so that I could visit Daniel's every day rather than only once a week!!! Definitely more than worth the drive!!!

Daniel and Simon are truly the best choices at Daniel's Hair Salon; although you can't go wrong with any stylist there - since they are all talented! The most seasoned and creative artists I have ever come across at any beauty salon are Daniel & Simon! Choose either of them for your first visit and you will search no further! I promise!

Ronnie at Daniel's hair salon does the best color in DC. If you want to look like a natural blonde, she's the one to go to.

I love my colorist Ronnie (who works at Daniel's Salon). She is the best!! She always does something that's a little different, but never over the top. I always trust her choices - and I always get lots of compliments on my color! Give Ronnie a try -- I think you'll love her! :)

If you need to color your hair but you want to be looking natural – Daniel is the ONE ? His haircuts are the best too. I traveling a lot between Israel, Russia and USA, and after checking several hair designers I choose Daniel’s salon. Daniel, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

By far one of the best hair salons! Daniel is a tremendous and artistic hair stylist! They have an intense team of colorists that will blow you away! I hope you don't move anytime soon. I love your location and the building is really really cool.

OMG. I just decided to check in and see what salons people are rec'ing and BOOM. Daniel's is #1. How awesome! I love. this. place. They have the funkiest bldg in town.
Here's the deal: My stylist is Ronnie. I've been all over the District and she's been doing my hair for the past 8 years. I will not allow anyone else to touch me, I *always* get big comps. I cannot lie. It's all her fault. She is to blame for being the bestest and just making me look good.
Go see her. And thank me later! :^)

The best haircut I've ever had: I've found the best salon I have ever come across; Daniel's Hair Salon. Before I found Daniel's, all I had ever experienced when I've gotten a hair cut was bad service and the feeling that the stylist can't finish my hair fast enough. This is not the case when Daniel's works their magic. Daniel's is a very professional, knowledgeable, and creative salon that will make you wish they had been cutting your hair all along.
