Turner Fisheries in the Westin Hotel is always an amazing dining experience from beginning to end. The chowder and raw bar are world-class. My favorite single item is the bamboo steamer basket. It basically consists of small portions of all of the goodies: lobster, scallops, shrimp, tuna, swordfish, salmon, mussels all steamed to perfection. It's a great way to get a taste of everything. I usually don't have room for dessert, but I've been told more than once that the vanilla bean cream puffs are fantastic.
I have been there 3 times already and the seafood has always been fresh. I like the fact that they serve whole fish with bones(even though I am not very crazy about fishbones,it is so authentic that it makes me feel like I am on the greek coast,)
B&G is the ultimate South End hidden gem. Intimate atmosphere with world class seafood. No better place in Boston to get fresh oysters on the half-shell.
Vlora is the only place I know in Boston that serves true Mediterranean favorites like red mullet and octopus. They also have fantastic favorites like tuna and salmon, all lightly grilled and without heavy sauces.
I'm from out of town, so I may not know best, but I went to a big business dinner at Summer Shack in Boston and it was tremendous. Very casual place, but great food -- Jasper White has always been one of my favorite chef's.
