If you haven't been to Russo's you're doing yourself a grand disservice. It's in Watertown, and relatively easy to get to. I don't know HOW they can sell the stuff they do for such incredibly reasonable prices, but they do it. The produce section takes up half the store and has everything you can imagine. They specialize in a lot of Asian greens that you can't even get at Super 88. They also have a salad bar, prepared food case, they get cheese from Formaggio and pasta from Dave's Fresh Pasta in Davis Square. They have a bakery etc etc -- this is really the best grocery store in the greater Boston area.

Pemberton Farms has amazingly fresh produce and some really unique stuff. It's all locally grown and there are a lot of organic options. Add in the prepared foods and a top notch salad bar, and you have yourself a winner.

This place is phenomenal, I used to live in Watertown and would always get my fruits and veggies there every week. I'd also suggest you check out the cheese and pasta selection and their freshly baked bread. They also have a great selection of herbs and plants!

This used to be in downtown crossing. I heard they opened up a new location closer to South Station. Anyway...great place for fresh produce in Boston.

Definitely worth the trip! They've got a great garden section, too.
