Best place for 21st birthday?

My roommate is turning 21, and we want to take her somewhere that is fun, but not your average Allston-Brighton college bar. Where can we go that's fairly cheap but not sketchy?

If you're looking to get out of Allston/Brighton but stay cheap, I would imagine Boylston St would be the place to go. Of the bars on Boylston, Pour House and Rattlesnake cater to the college crowd a bit more than others. My vote is for Rattlesnake because they've got the roof deck to end all roof decks.

Jake Ivory's is a real good place for big groups of people. You can request some songs, hang out in one of the lounge areas and just have a nice, sloppy, good time.

There are multiple rooms, and multiple bars. There is a live band in one room and a DJ in another. It has something for everyone!

Boylston St is the logical option, but if you want something that is a little classier, try 33 on Stanhope St. It's a more upscale (but not break-the-bank) option with good dancing and drinks. I'd recommend it for a 21st!

Pour House is a good spot for a birthday. Easy going crowd, cheap drinks, dance floor and good music.
