Man, Anna's is over-rated. El Pelon is also pretty good, but my favorite (second to my home-made ones) is Picante. Also doesn't hurt that they have a liquor license and I can get a Tecate or Pacifico with my burrito!
I just tried the new Chipotle in Davis Square last week and I was so impressed. Delicious food, great service. I like that they use shredded cheese instead of melting a piece of sandwich cheese on the tortilla.
I heard a lot of talk about Anna's for a long time, all my friends that went to school in Boston never stopped yapping about it. I finally tried one (carnitas with black beans) and came away impressed..but nothing compares to San Francisco.
Boca grande will make your burrito without cilantro. Which is, hands down, the spice of the devil.
Picante has beer. Which is a major plus...but their burritos are kind of soggy. If I get a chicken poblano burrito, I want to taste three things above all: Chicken, peppers and some good rice texture. I feel like with Picante, you only taste salsa and sour cream and the darned burrito eventually gets too soggy at the bottom and breaks - Which is lame.
El Pelon -- pfft. They don't even know how to melt their cheese. Tacos Lupitas is authentic Salvadorian style outside of Porter/Union Square. They also have tremendous tamales, but...BURRITO
El Pelon PWNS Anna's: (a) they're bigger (b) they use shredded cheese instead of a slab of globby cheese (c) they've got el guapo - fried plantains and steak (d) they've got great fish burritos/tacos
