Forget about Maggiano's...Carmines is absolutely, hands down, the best italian food I've ever had (and I live on the east coast where it's lousy with Italian food). Get the eggplant appetizer too!

Ok, let's discuss Carmines.... clearly a frontrunner in Denver's italian cuisine but the family size portions are excessive. Rarely do I have a chance to dine out with a party the size Carmine's targets. It provides the perfect date night ambiance but the menu discriminates against a group of 4 or less. When my husband and I do decide to gorge in their lovely food, we leave feeling overly full and terrible guilty for all the under nourished people particularly those in Denver. Our drive home we often take alternate routes looking for a homeless person to pass our leftover's on to. While I believe they are the best, I'd love to see a special menu for 2!

Everything is made fresh including their garlic rolls which are fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxed and very conducive to enjoying dinner with friends and family. Friendly management and wait staff. Lots of energy and you know a restaurant that has people lined up down the block waiting to get in on a nightly basis has to be good...very good!
