I entered my first triathlon in January 06 and went to Capitol Hill Bikes to buy my bike and accessories. Not being an avid biker I really didn't know what I needed. The entire staff at Capitol Hill Bikes has been great. I Whenever I hear someone talking about cycling, I ask them if they have checked out Capitol Hill Bikes and if not then they need to.

Their friendly staff. No matter if you have been riding for years or getting a bike for the first time they treat you as Number 1 in the store. They also are a woman cyclist friendly place. I can go there without my husband and receive the same treatment and respect. Not all bike shops are like that. They take the time to get to know the customer and see what it is they need and not just trying to sell them a bike. Their mechanic staff is superb also. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

The service from bike maintenance to bike fit is far above any other shop I have ever been to. I the staff is very knowledgeable of all the products too.

The staff - they are serious cyclists of all stripes who sell products they believe in (and ride themselves). CHB also goes out of their way to give something back, to their neighbors in Capital Hill and to the greater cycling community. Especially good for road-oriented cyclists

Travis and the gang are awesome. They have great prices, a good selection of bikes and equiptment, and unsurpassed knowledge of cycling. The shop is top notch, and they will go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your purchase.

Over the past several years I have observed that the staff take care of all types of cyclists, from novices to pros, with equal interest and attention to their needs. I am a bike commuter riding from Capitol Hill to Silver Spring and back daily and I need to have my bike running well...whenever I've had a breakdown or needed an adjustment, I have been able to have my bike serviced immediately. This attention and great service factored into me recently buying a new bike from them. It's great to have them as a neighbor.

Unlike several other local bikeshops I have frequented, Capitol Hill Bikes would rather put you on a bike you will love than put you on any bike at all. They will not try to sell you what they have left to get rid of extra stock, they size you properly for a bike and they will not try to sell you things you don't need if you tell them for what you will be using the bike.

They have worked hard to develop a relationship with the local community. It is a great place to hang out. They do excellent work on all kinds of bikes, no matter how high-end or low-end they might be. They don't make you feel like an idiot when you come in with a $25 bike or you don't know how to change a flat.
