Perfect espresso every time. Gorgeous pastries and an authentic atmosphere. Best place to go for a coffee in the afternoon or after dinner.

The one in North Beach, although thee original with lots of cool history, usually has a jerk or two working there. Look buddy, I came here for some coffee and not your holier-than-thou attitude. The location on New Montgomery has much nicer people working there, and more places to sit. The best thing about Trieste, of course, is the delicious and super strong coffee. The house coffee might be the best in the city, for that's how I usually judge coffee shops. They have brown sugar at the condiments counter, which is always a good sign. The pastries from a local bakery are excellent; seriously, the apple turnovers are the best you'll ever have! This would be a five star review if it wasn't for the staff that sometimes could use a lesson on being nicer.
