Hidden in a corner of one of San Diego’s oldest neighborhoods in P.B. is a charming 1920’s beach house with a deck and garden called Café 976. One of the first buildings in the area, it was originally a home, then used as a school and then an antique store before it was rehabbed in 1993 into the coffeehouse bistro that it is today.

the food, service, friendly staff and management, location and variety of the menu make the caffe 976 the greatest place to meet up with friends or just a leisurely meal on your own, couldn't ask for more in a cafe......................

The desserts are to die for. We love this place. We came to Cafe 976 on our first date-for dessert and coffee and ended up staying for hours. Now we are married and just had our first daughter. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious and fresh. In fact we had our rehearsal dinner at Cafe 976 and could not have been more pleased. For private parties they let you use any outside caterer you want, if you want something they don't have! Every time we go there it is like seeing an old friend and coming home again.
