Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream was established in Carmel, Indiana May, 2003. Matt and Rachel Frey, owners of the restaurant, had been thinking of a concept for a family restaurant with an emphasis on quality food and a fun atmosphere for several years. When they found the location along the Monon Trail, they knew it was meant to be! With a lot of family guidance and moral support, Bub’s was born! "Bub” is a family nickname for Matt and his brother-in-law and it fit perfect with the Big Ugly Burger concept. What was a family nickname has now caught on with employees and regular customers and now “Bub” can usually be found pattying burgers in the kitchen or visiting tables most days of the week! As the name states, burgers are our specialty. Our burgers are made from fresh, handpattied ground beef. Our buns are custom made to fit our burgers and baked fresh at a local bakery. We can’t emphasize quality enough. We believe this is what sets Bub’s apart from most family eateries. We serve a simple menu but we make sure that all ingredients and products are the best tasting and best quality we can find.

If you can manage a 1lb burger and the drive up to the northside, these are some of the best burgers I have ever had. Excellent food, quality service and alright prices make this one of my favorite places to bring friends from out of town.

Come on now, have you people gone absolutely bonkers? I've had a lot of burgers, good and bad. I gave Bubs two chances, and they flunked out both times. If they didn't have some garden and other condiments on their burger, it would have no taste at all. They may have some atmosphere, but that's about all. Go to Edwards on the south side or even White Castle, when you have a craving, but skip Bub's.

This is burger heaven!!! If you haven't tried Bub's you're missing the best! Wonderfully flavorful burgers and a great staff make this the place for family gatherings or a night out with the pals!!

Bubs burgers are amazing and delicious. Their sloppy waffles are wonderul too! you cannot beat the atmosphere and the freindly up-beat staff. If you ahve not gone you need to!

Their burgers don't taste any different than the ones I cook at the grill at home. I think this restaurant is so overated! Ted's Montana Grill is so much better!!!!

You can't get any better than Bubs! Friendly service and great food! They really contribute a lot to the community as well! We need more places like Bubs!

Bub's Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their "Big Ugly" is awesome! It's a huge juicy beef burger. They also have an ice cream shop in the back, with a variety of flavors. The flavor I always get is "Super Rainbow". It's delicious!

Big and delicious! Akongside the Monon Trail, this place has outstanding service but it's the burgers which rock! Especially great are the elk burgers! Yum!

Besides the best burger in town, you can sit outside most of the year and enjoy the activites on the Monon. I don't know what they do to their burgers, but I wish I could duplicate them.

I stay away from Burger places because they are not so "Healthy" but after tasting the burgers here, you won't care! They are truly amazing. THe best burgers I have ever had... They even have lean Elk meat, Mahi Mahi and great soups and chilis. It's one of our family's favorite places to bring guests that come into town. I highly recommend Bub's.
