BPS founders Gwen and Scott Clapp have over 25 years experience in hospitality and are both honors graduates of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute. They have catered parties as small as two and worked on events as large as the Phoenix Open, serving over 12,000. Gwen and Scott moved to Albuquerque in 2001, and they quickly established a reputation as a “different type of caterer. An experience should be crafted to fit your needs. With Blue Plate Special you get more than platters of food - you receive full, personalized service. We ask you what you want for your event instead of telling you our limitations. We do whatever it takes, from on site cooking to traveling for hours in vans loaded with equipment, food and staff. We’ve rolled sushi in an alley, roasted a pig at a winery, fried crab cakes in an alley (in the dead of winter no less!), and prepared dinner (for hundreds) in a garage. Our service is always professional and appropriate - from elegant plated dinners to backyard barbeque's.
