With a name like Birmingham J, how do you get past the stigma of being a "local" rapper? Easy. "Havent you heard of Memphis Bleek?" he laughs. "If youre good, youll shine anyway. I want people to know where Im from. People think [Birmingham] is country, backwoods, dirt streets. Its not really like that here.
