Ultimate Bicycle was started by Guy Clerici. Guy wanted to follow in his father's footsteps in creating an exciting business and with his passion for cycling it seemed the perfect fit. He researched all over Charlotte before deciding on the newly built Centrum Mall. Building bikes on dirt floors, Ultimate Bicycle was opened in Oct. 1993 and has grown ever since. Guy stepped down in Sept. 1998 and Ilan Paltrow took over. Ilan is from Portland, OR and has been involved in Ski and Bike racing for years. Since then, Ultimate Bicycle has moved into a much bigger location in Pineville, acquired Bicycle Sport and now opened our third store: Ultimate Bicycle - Matthews. Bicycle Sport is Charlotte's premiere high end road bike shop in the heart of Myers Park and is over 23 years old. It recently moved 6 doors down to a bigger and much nicer location. The first store in Charlotte to offer espresso on Saturday mornings, it continues the tradition of exciting people by great bikes or caffeine. The newest member of the family is Ultimate Bicycle - Matthews. It is on the corner of Sardis Road North and Monroe Road in the busy Galleria Shopping Center and finally gives the people in SE Charlotte and Union county an excellent place to shop with a great selection of bikes and accessories.
