Baseball gear and practice in Boston

Batting cages -- especially good ones -- are hard to find. Also, sports stores don't treat this sport equally. It's a shame really.

Good Time Emporium -- CLOSED
Ugh. This is my quick fix. They only have one cage and it's indoors and poorly lit. Bonus: large screen TVs and beer.

Extra Innings
You can rent a cage for an hour and throw from the mound or use the machines. Self-loading so make sure you bring a friend...also an hour is a long time, so you'll need a rest.
-
Danehy Park
One of my favorite ballfields in the city. Tons of open areas if the field is taken, but if it isn't, oh boy. Reachable fences -- usually in good condition.
-
Sports Etc
These guys have a good selection of gloves and bats. They also have a good selection of baseball cleats.
-
Everett Square Sporting Goods
Old school store in the heart of Everett. I got a really cheap box of batting practice balls here.

Route 1 Miniature Golf & Batting Cages
Batting cages throw high heat, and there are slower cages to warm up or cool down in. One of the best outdoor batting cages I've found near Boston.
