On flourishing 14th Street lies Bar Pilar, an alluring restaurant and bar that blends distinct local character with true international flavor. Led by Executive Chef Justin Bittner, Bar Pilar focuses on a daily changing menu of Italian inspired small plates, utilizing local farm fresh ingredients. Each of the new dishes is created with wine pairings, as a driving force behind the simplicity of flavors. Desserts at Bar Pilar feature the creative talents of Pastry Chef Lizzy Evelyn, who also oversees the dessert menu at Café Saint-Ex, and represent an exciting twist on classics. Desserts are prepared as three-bite tastes that sell for $3 each. The ever-changing menu is in keeping with seasonal products and offers light flavors, easily paired with wine. The “small bites” dessert concept allows for added invention and creativity and allows guests to explore different items they might be hesitant to try as a larger portion. The wine list offers an extensive selection of ports and dessert wines, all by the glass. All of the changes at Bar Pilar have ultimately created a vibrant and lively atmosphere that make it a “go to” place for casual dinner or snacks with friends. The constantly changing menu provides a spark of interest that invites discovery of new flavors and textures upon every visit.
