This is a routine consideration at Avalon Salon and Spa and is created through the salons environment, beginning with an encounter of Aveda aromas with a friendly greeting, to a stress relieving scalp massage before each haircut or a relaxing foot soak enjoyed in the spa before a massage and facial. First of all let me just tell you that Ingrid gives the best manicure and pedicure in all of Detroit!! I have been to several salons, and not only does she have the best personality the Scottish brogue is an added bonus. Carolyn is the best when it comes to cut and color and the staff is just plain awesome. I love this place

Having recently moved to the area, it took me three salons before I finally found Avalon, and more specifically, Mary! She did an excellent cut and color. The staff was warm and inviting. If you aren't quite satisfied with your current stylist, I highly recommend Mary. She's awesome!

I don't think anyone is being rude - only honest, which is appreciated. Avalon does good work, but I have also experienced some dissatisfactory customer service. I do like their pedicures, but don't go too often as I have moved recently and they are too far.

I have curly hair. Growing up it was terrible. It was the only flaw on my magnificent body. Then I walked in there one day and was changed forever! I sat down in Amber's chair, got a scalp massage, a wash, and a cut. It changed my life. Amber is the best stylist ever.

I Love This Place!! Avalon salon and spa is by far the best. I love love love this place and the wonderful staff. I went to a much larger salon before coming here and I just felt lost in a bunch of chaos. Everyone at Avalon is so friendly and always makes you feel welcome. I will always come here!

I disagree. My hair is amazing, but that is no credit to the spa itself. I followed my hairstylist to this salon and she does a great job. However, the reception team is ill-trained and unprofessional. If you are truly looking for a good arch, I suggest going to someone who specializes in arches only. I have had my arches done there and I was dissatisfied every time. For an upscale salon/spa, the service is impersonal. In addition, the spa is small. When I walked back there, I wondered where the rest of it was located. I would prefer to stay at a Day Spa that is more equipped.

Very nice spa, warm and inviting staff. Staff are also current in their fields, and my hair has never looked better ( thanks Amy!! ). Natacha is the best Brow archer EVER!

I have truly fantastic hair. It is my most valuable attribute by an overwhelming margin. My body is merely a pedestal on which to display such an exceptional coif to the world. My hair is me and I am my hair. But it wasn’t always this way. Up until a few years ago my hair was uninspired and dull. Like a raw block of marble, it hadn’t yet been transformed to its current, sculpted glory. And then I met Dawn at Avalon. She released the soul that had, until then, been imprisoned by a perfect, straight part and drug store gel. She is my Michelangelo.A stylist with such talent and vision deserves to be celebrated. That is why I voted for Avalon Salon & Spa as Detroit’s Best Hair Salon
