I love this shop! Whenever I'm in downtown Royal Oak, I make a point to stop in. Astoria has some of the best desserts around, including superb eclairs and a mind-boggling assortment of cheesecakes. I recommend watering down the coffee a bit, though -- they brew it STRONG!

Over 48 years of relishing the best Macaroons in the world. Everyone who comes to visit whether from out of state or from abroad has raved over not only the selection but the quality of the desserts.
Not only that but when racing from work to drop in for a late afternoon treat the Detroit Police had waved me into a no parking area so that I could pick-up my order. Now that's a treat that everyone should experience. So while it may be a breakfast run, after dinner run or, late night snack .....Astoria is where I'd rather be.

These are the absolute best pastries...pretty much anywhere! I am Greek and I appreciate the authenticity and complexity of all the goodies. Its a must stop when I'm in Greektown.

I live about an hour away from this bakery but every time I am in the area...I am sure to stop in and enjoy a slice a carrot cake. I also will take some items home to enjoy for later (since I live so far away). My daughter loves the selection of ice cream.
