Sparking creativity since 1909, the Ann Arbor Art Center is located in the vibrant retail and restaurant area of downtown Ann Arbor. Four galleries feature work of Michigan and regional artists and that of students in Art Center programs. The galleries are relaxed and inviting and include educational materials for adults and the "I Spy" activities for children. The Art Center is one of Michigan’s oldest and most respected arts organizations, and is committed to engaging the community in education, exhibition, and exploration of the visual arts. Not to mention just plain fun! In the studio art education program, the organization continually strives to create an inviting, nurturing and exciting environment that welcomes young and older, regardless of skill level and background.

I like that the Ann Arbor Art Center sells art from mostly local artists. They have something for everyone there. Sculpture, glass, jewelry, ceramics, fibers... They also have classes for just about anything you might want to try.

This gallery supports artists living in Washtenaw County. They provide gallery space, as well as courses for beginning and advanced artists.

The Ann Arbor Art Center has something for everybody from children to adults. There is a fine art gallery, a great gift shop, many art classes and a dedicated staff. I have always enjoyed my time spent there!

A genuine community arts center. A gallery showing the work of emerging artists--not something a lot of galleries are willing to do. also a gallery shop selling work of Michigan artists and craftspeople and a wide range of classes. They provide scholarships for students whose families lack the resources to pay for classes.

For over 80 years this extraordinary organization has served this community...bring contact with art to thousands of people....many of whom would never experience the joy and learning that comes with making art without this organization. I served on the board for over 8 years and have been active in the organization for 18 years.

The Ann Arbor Art Center is well rounded in the arts and offers many things for all ages... Wine tasting events for the adults and free Art classes and birthday partys for the kids. Making art enjoyable for everyone is key to why they are the BEST!

One of the many educational opportunities that the Ann Arbor Art Center provides is the ArtMakers program, which allows at-risk teens to participate in a creative and positive activity each summer. This has boosted their self-confidence and has inspired many of them to continue their artistic endeavours.

The Ann Arbor Art Center has multiple programs to educate children in the arts. They have Creativity Camp, regularly scheduled classes within their semesters, ArtVentures, ArtMakers Teens and ArtStars. The last two are scholarship programs that award students with exceptional talent and financial disability the opportunity to experience what all the arts can mean.

The Ann Arbor Art Center is a great part of our society's safety net, bringing culture to people, kids in particular, who need something bright in their lives to build hope, self-worth, and to experience success. The Art Center is the only non-profit I have done volunteer work for that truly understands the importance of donor recognition. I always look forward to working on projects for the Art Center.

The Ann Arbor Art Center is a thriving and dynamic presence in Ann Arbor and offers the community a variety of courses, programs and interesting exhibitions - there is even a gallery shop with one of a kind items - it's a downtown treasure.
