Two Hair and Make up guys, together in business for 27 years, are as different as night and day, like Dean and Jerry, Alfred and Thomas have had a banter that is a constant stream of humor, information, the day's take on current events, and the latest tips on style, fashion, skin care, and weight loss. Our clients range from high profile entertainment, education and politicians, to working and stay at home moms. We mix big dig workers and soccer dads, to MBA's and the new male "metrosexuals". All love to engage in the cross talk that always is spiced with Alfred and Thomas's one of kind brand of often conflicting, sometimes fiery viewpoints. As everyone knows, oil and vinegar makes a great Salad dressing .

I have never loved my hair so much!
Best cuts, best color, and absolutely best gossip and conversation.
I have friends who have moved to California who come back to Thomas at Alfred Harvard Square to have their hair cut! They are that good!
I've been going to Thomas Cox at Alfred ever since I was a graduate student more than 20 years ago. He has given me great haircuts despite my difficult, string-straight hair. And he has been funny, informative, and supportive all through my two pregnancies and professional career. He knows my kids by name and has even started to give my haircut-shy 14 year old cuts.
Thomas has been cutting my hair for over 13 years (with a small gap when I lived elsewhere and couldn't find anyone like him!) - nobody does it better! I am always asked where I get my hair cut.
Have been going to alfred since 1989 and now my husband and many friends go there too, alfred, thomas, lisa & the gang are the best! Here's to good hair days, life is too short for bad hair! Thanks alfred!

Great color/great cut
Every haircut/color is like a new consultation yet you feel part of a family going back to visit for your favorite comfort food. If you go in feeling at all blah you are certain to come out with a smile as well as a bounce.

Alfred is so much more than an excellent hair salon. Although THAT would be more than enough. If you read the testimonials on their website it says it all: two excellent professionals with different personal styles committed to more than just making a profit leading by example to bring dignity and feelings of well being to people in their community.

I was looking for an "edgy" look for my hard to cut Asian hair. I walked out with a very cool euro-cut. I can wax it up to blast my razored spikes or wear it down for when my parents come over. I LOVE it.
