I am pasting in a letter I wrote to the owner. I booked a cut and color appointment, but 24 hours before, I was told I could get only a cut bc I had to have a consultation first. The owner called me and told me I could do the cut and consultation or come in for a consulation and then return for a cut and color. Either way, I had to make two trips. She told me I lied when I said no one told me of her policy when I first made the appointment. She also said this salon wasn't right for me. I hadn't even stepped foot in the door yet. Here is the letter:I was to have a 4 p.m. appointment for a cut and color Saturday with Debbie. I never have been to your salon before.

My visit was originally set for (Sept.), but I was able to move it. When I did, the receptionist told me it would be for the last appointment for the day. I thought that was odd because it didn't leave much time before you closed, so I called back immediately to confirm it was for a cut and color. She confirmed that.

When your receptionist called me today, she told me I was booked only for a cut. I told her I wanted both services. Clearly, there was a mistake.

She called back to tell me that because I never had been there before, I needed a consultation before the color. She told me I would have to come back for a second appointment to get the color done.

I canceled the appointment. I am deeply disappointed because I was hoping for the stellar service you promised on your site.

Here is why: I believe someone at the salon made up the consultation rule to cover for the mistake. Rather than squeezing me in or rescheduling me, someone made up a policy and wanted me to come back. I did not expect such a lack of sophistication from this salon.

I have been to much better and more expensive salons from Paris to Chicago to L.A. Neither has anyone failed to admit a mistake to me, nor has anyone failed to graciously and quickly correct it.

No one, too, has even made me return to a salon for second appointment for a color service. I have been doing this long enough to know that unless you're sending hair clippings to Quantico for chemical analysis, a consultation doesn't require a return visit. Second, good stylists work color with the hair cut for the best results.

The explanation I received today contradicts your policy on your website. It says this: "If you are a New Client and want colour along with a haircut we will schedule you for a 15 minute complimentary consultation prior to your booking thus ensuring we schedule for the appropriate services and times correctly."

That indicates your consultations take 15 minutes and are done on the same visit. Why should I be treated any differently?

I read reviews about your salon that disparaged it for high-pressure sales and late, unprofessional stylists. I chose to ignore those because I wanted the talent, service and products a salon of your caliber promises to offer.

However, now I will add my experience to those online reviews.

Finally, I believe you all have forgotten that however limited, Orlando still offers me a choice of salons. Because you wanted me to return twice and I have canceled my appointment with you, I can now use that choice to choose to spend my money elsewhere.

No doubt the best salon in the area. Don't be fooled by LA "wannabees" like Prive - go to where the real artist's reside and get it done right the first time......

Debbie and the staff at Alexander Hair Salon make my experience at this salon second to none. Debbie is such a visionary and I always leave with amazing color, highlights and a meticulously cut head of hair! The compliments I get every day on my hair tell me not only is she great at doing my hair in the salon, but I can leave and do my hair myself and it still looks amazing. That's when you know you have a great stylist...when you do your normal hair routine in the morning and it still always looks amazing! THE BEST salon in Orlando!

Alexander Hairdressing is the best salon in Orlando! I've gone to Debbie for over 8 years and have never been unhappy with the results. The staff at Alexander Hairdressing is very professional.

This is the most professional salon in Orlando. I feel like I am in New York or London when I am there. Excellent haircuts and fabulous color - the staff are so friendly and the salon so so inviting. They also have the best beverage menu I have ever seen in a salon.

Best color and haircut in town. My hair has never look so good. They are the experts and sorting out what works best for your hair and your lifestyle from the color to the cut to the maintenance. There is no hard sell, just expert advice. Very professional staff and extremely well-organized business. Prices are very reasonable for the level of service and quality of products.

A professional atmosphere with warm personal. I receive daily compliments on my hair whether it's the color or cut. I'm always giving out Debbie's or Daunte's name. This is a pricey salon but well worth the results. I have been going to Debbie for many years now , had many styles and have always left happy.

This is my favorite hair salon that I have ever come across. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is fabulous and my hair always comes out better than I even imagined. My friends have seen my hair and have started going to Alexander Hairdressing and love it as well! It is just amazing and I am so thankful because without them i would be forced to look like everyone else in Florida. My hair is truly unique and I love it!!!
