Ace Custom Tattoo was founded in 1994. Dissatisfied with the way most shops were being run, i.e. with an emphasis on tattooing uninformed customers and getting their money, as opposed to educating them and talking them out of bad decisions, Nick Hughes, Fritz and Colin Larocque opened the shop at 1045 Central Ave., Charlotte, NC. The shop was an instant success winning both the readers and critics choice.
