A beer drinker's guide to Atlanta

If there is such thing as a must-see tourist spot, then there has to be such thing as a must-drink bar. These are the premiere spots to quench your beer thirst in the Atlanta area.

Brick Store Pub
The outdoor seating, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff will pull you into Brick Store every time you walk by. The beer selection is very good with a number of rarely seen microbrews on tap.
If you go upstairs you'll think you were in Beglium. The tasting room usually has a few trappist ales (Westmalle, Chimay, Rochefort) as well as an extensive bottle menu.
The menu is just your typical pub fare, but done very well. -
The Thinking Man Tavern
Thinking Man is a unique bar for the Atlanta area that definitely tries to hit on the neighborhood feel. The beer selection is good for its size (~15 taps) with a good emphasis on on West Coast microbrews.

The Vortex Bar and Grill
Vortex is certainly not your standard "beer bar" with an atmosphere that screams tacky, but they probably have the best selection of beers in the midtown area. Usually you can find a good selection of Dogfish and Brooklyn brews with some imports too. Not the best, but at the same time definitely worthy of a spot on this list.

Corner Pub
A quaint neighborhood pub with outdoor seating and great rotating tap lines. They always have new stuff in and do a good job of finding some great beers.

Atlanta Brewing Company
ABC has a new location and they offer tours and tastings on Wednesdays and Fridays with life music! Great time.
