Dave Marth & Kathy Bergin opened 3 Doors Down Cafe in 1994 with a vision to enhance the southeast Portland dining scene with a strong, congenial neighborhood spot. The unique food, relaxed atmosphere, extensive wine list and full bar (including fresh squeezed juices and premium liquors) all speak to the restaurant's originality and commitment to quality. Situated in the eclectic Hawthorne neighborhood in the inner southeast, between Mt. Tabor and the Hawthorne Bridge, 3 Doors Down Cafe & Lounge is a casual, upscale eatery serving traditional Italian & New American dishes made from local, seasonal products. We showcase an abundance of organic produce, meat raised using ecologically friendly and humane methods, game & poultry from area farms and high-quality imported European products. 3 Doors Down has recently expanded. Our remodel has tripled our size. The expanded restaurant seats 40 in the main dining room, 12 in the lounge area and 10 at the beautiful copper-clad bar. Parking is available on-street and there is a Tri-Met bus stop (#14) a half block south of the cafe at Hawthorne and 37th.
