The 1154 LILL STUDIO Custom Handbag or “design your own handbag” concept was an original idea, first introduced during the public launch of the line at a Chicago street fair in 1999. (What we now call LILL’s Birthday!) Owner Jennifer Velarde loved seeing different fabrics, colors and textures come together in the handbags she would sew. As quickly as she would create one bag combination, she was already interested in creating another using a different mix of fabrics. Giving that same creative outlet to the customer was a happy turn of fate and immediately became the core concept of 1154 LILL.
